The firm Palermo, born in Salaparuta in 1976, initially with few hectares of surface, today it directly conducts around 6 hectares of vineyard, always it pursues the objective to produce native Sicilian grapes of quality, from which it produces wines that accomplish the greatest expression thanks to the selection of the best grapes, to the low yield and the use of new winemaking techniques.


The firm Palermo founds his own roots upon the tradition and the wine and vine Sicilian culture and following the spirit of change that in the last few years has characterized the winemaking industry, it is projected toward the future adopting new technologies of production approached to the country wisdom. The autochthonous vine, on which the firm concentrates own attention , is the Nero d’Avola, that for its typicality and its characteristics represents the Sicilian identity in the Italian and international wine and vine world.
From several years, the family oenologist experimented with the microvinification, also international vines as the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Pinot Nero, the Merlot and others. The studies and the experimentations confirm the choice of the Nero d’Avola as vine to prefer, since in perfect symbiosis with the territory it always expresses a strong personality. It is born so the Bruchicello Nero d’Avola IGT Sicilia after a harvesting by hand in boxes, a maceration for 12-18 days in stainless steel vast and a maturation for 24 months of which 12 months in Allier oak barriques.
In 2007, to continue and to widen the work begun by the Palermo family, the owner of the Bruchicello trademark, came into being the new firm Bruchicello Vini that take over the peculiarities of the Palermo agricultural firm: the traditional choice of the native grapes like Catarratto and Nero d’Avola, the elevated standard of quality, and facing the new challenge of the new product lines DOC : White Salaparuta and Red Salaparuta.
Bruchicello, Nero d’Avola IGT Sicily, that has its debut in 1999, with a small initial production of around 5000 bottles. Doubled in the following years, the firm aims at achieve a least production of 50000 bottles, carving out for it self a niche of market and positioning it self in a middle-tall band of price. In the 2006 Bruchicello it widens its production and it begins with a new line D.O.C. :White Salaparuta and Red Salaparuta, destined to a vast public, with a good relationship quality-price.
